4x5 self portraits

working with the four by five camera was so great. I may consider purchasing one. The only thing that has me on the fence about it is mobility. I am a some what small girl and the four by five is a lot of work. I also HATE scanning film. I hate how it changes the image and i hate how plastic a digital print feels. I<3 fiber.

space and place

a recent assignment for Barry Stone's digital photo class,

this project addresses the space of commerce after hours and how it is something 

that can not be entered. In this way it becomes two dimensional like the designs

that advertise these spaces that draw people to them.

my mornings, my thoughts, my photographs

today is the day to start this blog

i have had it for quite awhile

perhaps over a year

and have never felt like entering it.

this morning is like others, i feel the same

but nautious.

i have to work in a little big, but am certain i will be late...

so is everyone else.

each morning when i wake

i get this longings

one of the strongest is for my love

and so almost every morning i

take a portrait of myself

what i will do with these pictures i do not know

i entered my kitchen

to make my coffee

the pot was clean, but the old grinds were there

he forgot to clean them last time he came over.

coffee with ice cream is what he made.

this is significant to me

i appreciate this

so i have these cups i bought at a antique store

and i thought we would drink coffee out of them

together when we are wed

and what does this have to do with photography?

Shea is one of my largest inspirations to take photos

this feeling i get in my chest that needs to be addressed

and the compositions he makes puts

incredible imagery in my mind

that i need to go out and find

and capture, images that evoke these same feeling
